10 Years in the Making…
Our vision to restore and bring back to life this historic mill started over a decade ago. We saw the potential in the adaptive re-use of this historic and underutilized building to help stabilize and revitalize the Bromley neighborhood here in Hamilton and the East Trenton neighborhood in Trenton, by providing a strong sense of place.
A New Community…
While the project has changed slightly over the last decade, one thing that has always stayed true, was our goal to create a space to bring people together. With a focus on arts and arts-related businesses, as well as community education and outreach programs, we always imagined our community contributing to the cultural growth of the neighborhood and region.
Serendipitous Encounters…
We are already seeing this happen with our first members to move in and are excited to see the community grow even more in the coming years. We envision our community members running into each other in the many common areas to say hello, grab a quick cup of coffee or to collaborate on a new project together. These serendipitous encounters are what makes The Social Profit Center a unique place to work. We want to provide a home not only for other nonprofits, but for artists, social entrepreneurs and anyone else who shares our vision to come together to make a difference.
